A Phytosociologica Study on the Vegesation of the North-eastern region of Delimitation Military Zone(DMZ)

Abstract
As it is known, that is, relatively an undisturbed region, the north-eastern region in the neighborhood of the Delimitation Military Zone (DMZ) is exceedingly luxuriant and tree growth is definitely a notable feature.
This investigation was carried out from See. 26, 1972 to Oct. 7, 1972.
In fact, the forest vegetation covers extensive portions of the DMP changing from the low0level upward to about 1,500 meter in elevation.
Within the forested area the vegetation is mostly composed of climax forests dominated by deciduous broad-leaved trees at lower elevations, and by coniferous trees on upper slopes, thereby permitting subdivion of the forest region into a hardwood forest zone and a conifer forest zone.
Based on the dominate tree species, several natural forest types are recognized.
They are coniferous trees, that is, pinus densiflora, Taxodium cuspidata, Abies holohuylla, and deciduous trees, Quercus mongolica, Acer pseudo-sieboldianum.
The dominated herbaceous species are Miscanthus sinensis, Ligularia fischerli, and shrubs are Lespedeza bicolor.
In this paper, the description of each type of vegetation of neighborhood of the DMZ are represented by the phytosociological view point.
